Koloa appreciating one of the finer pieces in the gallery.
Irises by Vincent van Gogh. It's one of the best and most valuable pieces in the collection (reported acquisition cost of $50 million).

Mental Illness .....huh? Guess if he knew he could get 50 million for his paintings he wouldn't have been driven so mad.

Koloa outside on the south terrace looking towards the San Gabriel and San Bernardino mountains. On clear days like this day you can see very far. But there are plenty of days where the mountains cannot be seen. Today we could see Santa Catalina island and Santa Barbara Island, part of the
Channel Islands.

One last picture beside "
Wheatstacks" by Claude Monet, another masterpiece in the Getty collection. By this time plenty of people are wondering what my hosts are doing with the camera. I guess the other visitors cannot appreciate a refined duck as myself (unless I'm on their dinner plate).
We didn't get to see any of the collection that has been the part of so much controversy between the Getty and the
Greek and
Italian governments while we were there. My hosts filled me in on much of it.
